Hulu announced on April 30th, that they will continue to scale their investment in original content. With over 6 million registered viewers, their services have grown over 20% since their fourth quarter in 2013. With such strong growth, they’ve recognized the need to not only lead the market in current TV streaming, but also to compete with new streaming content creators like Netflix.
Hulu will be expanding its originals with two new series: “The Hotwives Orlando” (a ‘Real Housewives’ parody) and “The Next Step” (a reality-drama based on a group of dancers). They will also be renewing all five of their other original series from 2013: “East Los High,” “Moone Boy,” “Quick Draw,” “The Awesomes,” and “Deadbeat.”
