A lot of people complain about why Hulu Plus still has advertisements, and we do attempt to routinely defend that these ads to offset the cost of normal television licencing fees.
Many people have recently noticed that Hulu Plus is showing upwards of five advertisements during streaming television shows. We’re not sure if this is just a test or a permanant shift, but we have seen variance depending on what content is being streamed with people noticing the five ad blocks in between ABC content most frequently.
We’ll keep doing a bit of research, but we have seen the “1 of 5” ad blocks during our own streaming which seemed a bit excessive at first, but they do seem to be shorter ads.
We’ll keep reminding ourselves that we’re only paying $8 a month as opposed to Cable’s normal $50, but this isn’t the best sign.
